Finishing 1st

Construction Projects Resume

1st Avenue improvements

Work begins April 1

Work on the final remaining improvements for the 1st Avenue reconstruction between 6th Street and 9th Street is expected to re-start on April 1.

The initial focus on 1st Avenue will be to complete the permanent northbound and southbound left turn lanes and medians at 6th Street. This will reduce northbound and southbound 1st Avenue approaching 6th Street to one through lane and one dedicated left turn lane. This lane reduction is expected to be in place until late April.

Additional street and sidewalk paving north of 6th Street will also require lane closures, with efforts made to minimize the duration. The project should be substantially complete by the end of May.  1st Avenue reconstruction

Coral Ridge Avenue

Coral Ridge Avenue

Work begins April 2

The last stretch of work on Coral Ridge Avenue reconstruction from Oakdale Boulevard to Forevergreen Road is scheduled to begin on April 2.

The initial focus will be to complete the final street, median, and sidewalk construction on the east half of Coral Ridge Avenue between University Parkway and Forevergreen Road. This will require running traffic head-to-head on the west half of Coral Ridge Avenue between University Parkway and Forevergreen Road, similar to the traffic control setup last fall.

Coral Ridge Avenue will remain in this configuration until mid-to-late May, and then traffic will shift to single lanes northbound and southbound, but on the correct side of the center median, until the project is substantially complete in late June.  Coral Ridge Ave reconstruction
