Youth Summer Programs

Coralville Parks and Recreation offers several summer day camps for youth: 

 All Day Camps 

  • SPARK: For youth who have completed kindergarten through entering sixth grade; Monday-Friday, all day.
  • Trail Trekkers: For youth entering sixth through ninth grades; Monday-Thursday, all day. 

Partial Day Camps

  • CCPA Theater Camps: Age range varies by week; Monday-Friday, part day.
  • Specialty Camps: Age range varies by week; Monday-Friday, part day.

  • 7:30 am-5:30 pm (early/late option)
ActivitiesFavorite field trips, swimming, arts and crafts, playground time, gym games, and "mind time" curriculum. 
Locations
  • North: Van Allen Elementary
  • Central: Coralville Recreation Center / S.T. Morrison Park
  • South: Borlaug Elementary
Weekly Cost
  • Basic camp (8:15-4:30 pm): $210 per week residents/$220 non-residents
  • Early/late camp (7:30 am-5:30 pm): Additional $30 per week
  • Additional field trip fees (4 sessions): $35
Discount10% discount per child, if registered for six (6) or more weekly sessions.
ScholarshipsLimited scholarships available each week. Contact the Coralville Recreation Center at 319.248.1750 or email recreation@coralville.org regarding eligibility and how to apply. Scholarship spots fill up quickly.
RegistrationRegister on a week-by-week basis (register for just the weekly sessions needed). Partial week registrations are not available.

Public registration begins on March 28, 2023.

Registrations will be accepted after April 1, 2023, based on session availability on a first-come, first-served basis.

AccommodationsParents of children with disabilities, language barriers, or children requiring special arrangements such as medication or behavior plans, should contact the Recreation Program Supervisor/Coordinator at the time of registration or at least 2 weeks prior to attending camp. The Recreation Program Supervisor and parent(s)/guardian(s) will determine a plan to accommodate the child in a safe and positive format.

Please keep in mind your child should be able to function in a 1 adult to 10 children ratio.

Apply to Be a Junior Leader

Youth entering grades 7-9 may apply to be a SPARK Junior Leader. Junior Leaders serve approximately 15 hours per week as role models for campers and gain leadership skills.  Applications are due by May 5, 2023.
