Federal Law requires that all passengers must wear face masks (excludes face shields) while waiting, boarding, and traveling on public transportation, and while at locations where people board public transportation.Refusing to wear a mask violates federal law.
All passengers must abide by this Federal mask mandate unless they have a medically approved exemption before using Coralville Transit’s public transportation services.
The CDC Order exempts people with disabilities who cannot wear a mask, because of their disability, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.). It is not meant for whom mask-wearing may only be difficult. This is a narrow exemption to be applied in very limited circumstances.
