About the ADA Transition Plan

Plan Overview

The City of Coralville’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan for Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way was approved by the City Council on February 26, 2019. The Transition Plan was developed to ensure that the City creates reasonable, accessible paths of travel in the public right-of-way for everyone, including people with disabilities.

What the Plan Includes

The ADA Transition Plan (PDF) presents the transition plan the City has developed for pedestrian facilities within the right-of-way (ROW).

The ADA Transition Plan identifies obstacles limiting the accessibility of sidewalks, curb ramps, and bus stops in the public ROW to individuals with disabilities, and prioritizes improvements that should be made. The Transition Plan also describes ADA accommodations during construction, the implementation plan and schedule for achieving compliance, funding sources, and a complaint procedure.

The City of Coralville welcomes comments regarding its ADA Transition Plan for Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way at any time. Based on this input, the City will review and update this ADA Transition Plan periodically.
